Monthly Active Referrals Explained

Monthly Active Referrals (MAR) is the total number of active referrals during your billing cycle.

Active referrals are the best value metric of a referral program.

How are active referrals calculated?

A referral is "active" if it includes any of the following events: new referral, updated referral, or has a referral action.

Referrals are either active or inactive, so even if a referral has multiple events during the month it only counts as a single active referral.

Do you charge for active referrals?

Not usually. But if your plan has a MAR limit, then you'll be charged for any additional active referrals over your plan's limit.

What am I billed for?

You're only billed for the additional active referrals over your monthly limit, if your plan has a limit. That limit resets each month.

What if there is an error?

If you feel there is an error in your billing, please reach out to us as we are happy to complete an audit and will correct your bill.

Do active referral counts reset each month?

Yes, monthly active referral counts reset each month on the day of your billing cycle. There is no rollover for unused active referrals.
