Conversion Tracking Settings

Configure the settings for your referral conversions

Updated over a week ago

In order to capture referrals from your own website, you will need to install the Referral.js SDK and set up Conversion Tracking.

Once you have your website properly connected to Referral Rock, configure your Conversion Tracking Settings to customize the way web conversions behave for your referral program.

Note: Conversion Tracking Settings are program specific.

To access these settings, navigate to your Program Editor and select the gear icon in the top right corner. From the drop down, select "Conversion Settings".

Enable/Disable Conversion Tracking Settings

By default, Web Conversions are disabled on all new programs. In order for conversion events to log inside of Referral Rock, you must "Enable Web Conversions".

For security purposes, we highly recommend configuring your Web Conversion Status and Web Conversion Amount from inside the Conversion Tracking Settings modal. These settings will override any value that is placed inside of the script.

Web Conversion Status Behavior

This is the referral status that all new referrals will be have when placed inside of Referral Rock upon conversion.

You may choose from Pending, Qualified, Approved or to use the value that is set in the script.

Web Conversion Amount Behavior

This is the referral amount that will be associated with new referrals when placed inside of Referral Rock upon conversion.

You may choose to enter a Fixed Amount, disable the referral amount field, or use the value that is placed in the script.

Configure Other Settings

  • Automatically approve referral - This option allows you to customize whether all Referrals will be auto approved upon conversion for this program.
    โ€‹

  • Tracking Expire - Allows you to customize the amount of days your Referral Rock cookie (labeled on browsers as rr_wcid) lives before expiring. Default value is 120 days.
    โ€‹

  • Tracking with First Interaction Attribution - Determines which member will receive credit for a referral if the referral clicks on multiple member's referral links, and therefore multiple Referral Rock cookies exist.

    • Last Smart Interaction (Recommended) - Credit for the referral goes to the last member whose link was clicked by the referral.

    • First Interaction - Credit for the referral goes to the first member whose link was clicked by the referral.

    • Last Interaction - Cookies are always replaced on a new referral link click, regardless of whether the referral clicks the same member's link more than once. This reduces tracking accuracy and fraud detection but can be useful if multiple members and referrals are expected to share the same device, as each referral link click on the same device will be tracked as a different user.
