Referral Form

Create a personalized page for referrals

Overview

The New Referral Form allows you to create a personalized page for referrals, directly within Referral Rock.

This page is designed to encourage the referral to convert by leveraging the trust they’ve already placed in the member. It features a personalized message from the member, details of the referral reward, and benefits of your company.

Where to Find the Referral Form

  1. Navigate to Program Editor > Share or click here

  2. Scroll down to find the Referral Form editor

Set Up the Referral Form

The Referral Form has three parts:

Sign-up: Convinces the referral to fill in their details on a form, or click a CTA button.

Extra Details (Optional): Requires the referral to fill out additional form fields, beyond the name and email.

Confirmation: Displays after the form is filled out or button is clicked, and explains next steps for the referral.

  • The confirmation can show a coupon code, a CTA button, and instructions together.

  • Plus, it can direct the referral to your own site if you wish, and pass form information to your site.

Here’s how to set up each part of this page.

Page Type

Choose from a Form and No Form mode, and switch back and forth seamlessly – the text you enter is saved when you switch layouts.

Note: Change your logo, brand color, and favicon in Portal > Brand Settings. The branding you set up for your Member Portal will also be applied here on the Referral Form.

Previews

  • Preview the Sign-up view (form or button), Extra Details view (form only) and Confirmation view (after filling out form or clicking button.

  • Preview how the Referral Form will look on mobile.

Referral Pitch

The text and layout meant to link the offer to the member and convince the referral to convert.

  • Member Quote: Testimonial about your business written from the member’s perspective and automatically signed with the member’s name. 1-2 sentences.

  • Logo Size: Adjust how the logo will display.

  • Heading: Bold text advertising the referral offer.

  • Subheading (“No Form” mode only): Encourages the referral to click the button to claim the offer, and briefly explains what to expect next. 1-2 sentences.

  • Button Label (“No Form” mode only): Advertises the referral offer on the button.

  • Button Link (“No Form” mode only): URL the button directs the referral to.

Sign-up (Form mode only)

  • Show or hide the name field by clicking the eye button, and choose whether this is required with the checkmark button (email is always required).

  • Customize your button label to advertise the referral offer

  • Customize your consent line to explain what referrals agree to on submitting. This supports rich text with inline hyperlinks (such as to a Terms/Privacy page).

  • Use the toggle to determine whether referrals must accept consent, and the error message that displays if they don’t accept consent.

  • Customize the Required Field Error text, the red error text shown under any required field a visitor leaves empty.

  • Choose whether referrals will need to enter extra details in a second step, after entering their name and email:

  • Configure the Extra Details heading.

  • Show or hide these fields by clicking the eye button, and choose whether they are required with the checkmark button:

    • Phone

    • Preferred Contact Method

    • Address

    • City

    • Country

    • State/Province

    • Zip/Postal Code

Confirmation (Form mode only)

Customize the text that displays after the referral fills out the form.

  • Headline: Include {firstname} to personalize with the referral’s name.

  • Subheader: Explain what will happen next (when they click the next button) and how to redeem the referral offer. If you’re giving a coupon code, mention that the coupon code is below

  • Coupon Code: Auto-generates a unique coupon code for each referral if you use the [coupon] shortcode. Or, fill in a coupon code if you want all referrals to have access to the same code.

Note: If you are not adding a coupon code, click the eye button to hide the coupon field.

  • CTA Button: Indicate what the referral will do by clicking (ex. Book your free consultation). You can choose not to display the CTA by clicking on the eye button.

  • Button Link: The URL that the CTA button redirects to.

    • Turn “Forward form data to redirect URL” on if your site will read the form data.

    • If the coupon field is used and form forwarding is on, the coupon code is also forwarded — so you can show it in a coupon banner on the page you redirect to, or automatically apply it to a shopping cart.

  • Also Emailed line: Use the code {email} to display the exact email address that will receive the coupon.
