Referral Banner

Pop-up notification when referrals visit your website

Updated over a week ago

Display a banner (pop-up notification) for referrals when they visit your website. This creates a better experience for referrals learning about your business (vs. just dropping them on your website).

If you don't have the time or resources to create a tailored referral page then the referral banner is a great option to add personalization without additional work. It works especially well for e-commerce companies displaying a coupon code to be used at checkout.

The Referral Banner is only shown to referrals (not seen by other visitors).

How It Works

The referral banner will display on any page the Referral.js SDK is on when a referral visits the page. We know a referral is visiting the page if they have the Referral Rock cookie on their browser. It will not show for anyone else.

In short, the referral will click a member link and be directed to your website to see a banner with an optional coupon code that they can copy and paste into the checkout.

Once shown, the referral can click to copy the coupon code.

The referral can also click the "close" icon to dismiss the banner at any time, but it will pop up if the page is reloaded or they navigate to another page.

Request Implementation from Referral Rock Team

Request access to get the referral banner implemented on your website. Click "Enable new features" then select "Referral Banner (on your website)."

Be sure to include the following information:

  1. Confirm:

    1. Referral Destination is set to Webpage Redirect with the correct URL set

    2. Your unique SDK is installed in the header of your website

  2. Tell us:

    1. Banner HEX color (e.g. #360e0b) for the banner

    2. Text copy (best to keep it short, especially for mobile viewing)

    3. Single coupon code to display

      1. This must be a fixed coupon code and cannot be unique for each member. If you can generate a single use per customer code, that is preferred.

  3. Submit your request
